1992-2002
Founding Excellence
Excellence’s history begins in 1992, when Marcin Ciecierski, known for his passion for sailing, a lover of nature and a friend of animals, established a sales and service company. Over the past few decades, Excellence has come a long way from a one-man, small business to a large, innovative company, competing to become a leader in the production of juices and syrups – both on the Polish market and abroad.
2002-2003
Development of syrup production
Our company has gained experience over many years, looking for new solutions and the best recipes. In 2002, we were already producing several types of syrup. A qualified team of employees, knowledge of the market and new improvements and enhanced production techniques have allowed for continuous development in all areas of our business.
2004-2010
Cooperation with the largest retail chains
The experience gained, the numerous awards and the BRC quality certificate obtained allowed us to start working with the largest retail chains in Poland. In parallel with developing family recipes and building our own brand, Excellence has also become one of the leading syrup suppliers to the largest chains in Poland.
2011-2012
Transformation into a company
In 2011, our company started as a limited liability company and in 2012 it became a joint stock company so that Excellence could make its debut on the NewConnect market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange in 2014.
2013-2014
New technology and equipment
Systematic investment in modern equipment and machinery has allowed us to expand our range of products and improve their quality. In 2014, we obtained EU funding to equip our own laboratory with equipment including an ultra-high performance liquid chromatograph (UHPLC), a laminar chamber and heaters necessary to control raw materials for pesticide content, exclude food adulteration and confirm microbiological purity of products.
2015-2016
Participation in international trade fairs
With a view to expanding into international markets, we took part in international trade fairs in the Netherlands, Germany, China and India, among others. During this time, our company was awarded further quality certificates, including IFS, passed the FDA (Food and Drug Administration in the USA) audit and received a number of awards such as Solid Company, Fair Play Company and the title ‘Business Gazelle’.
2016-2017
Expanding the offer with BIO products
By observing trends, both in Poland and in other countries, we entered a new stage of company development in 2017. To the extensive collection of traditional syrups, we added organic products. We have expanded our sterilisation capabilities with the use of a high-pressure autoclave, in which the short duration of high temperature allows the natural value of the products to be better preserved.
2018
Investment in machinery and technological innovation
The company has not rested on its laurels, in 2018, as part of our product development strategy, we invested in machinery which has helped to expand our product range and improve product quality. The purchase of modern machines has allowed us to introduce a new line of Biorę products. A modern technology, knowledge and experience of the R&D staff made it possible to create innovative products such as Biorę beverage with chia seeds, basil and white poppy seeds. The Biorę line is an ideal composition of exotic fruits, unique seeds and apple juice with an amazing taste.
2019
A year full of successes and awards
In 2019, we were the winners of the GOOD Drink competition for which our I am Bio products were entered. In the category For refreshment, the I am Bio lemon-flavoured Radler received the highest marks; the refreshing drink won the hearts of the judges, winning the gold medal. In the For Health category, the silver medal went to I am bio pickled beetroot juice. In the SPORT DRINK category, the isotonic drink I am Bio ISOBIONIC BALANCE scored highest. Our I am Bio organic mousses also scored highly in the competition. Our brand also won recognition among the youngest, receiving a gold medal for I am Bio orange juice.
2020
The world of online shopping – e-commerce developments
The pandemic and growing interest in online shopping changed the world as we knew it, the growth of online sales significantly influenced the company’s future directions.
Excellence, in line with the trends of the time, set its sights on investing in the development of its e-commerce department. The investment proved to be a success, and the increased frequency of purchases also translated into their growing value. We are pleased to note that we are seeing satisfactory growth in online sales every year.
2021
Excellence conquers the food sector
Continuous development and innovation has enabled our company to take a respectable place in the food industry. Continued high sales of Excellence products have contributed to a strong competitive position in the market. According to Nielsen data for 2021, the volume share of products sold was 31%, representing 13 million litres of syrups sold annually against a market size of 42 million litres. Thus, this means that one in three syrups sold in Poland comes from Excellence.
2022
We focus on health and ecology
Today, the company is putting even more emphasis on ecology and health – which is reflected, among other things, in the creation of the new I am Bio product line: syrups, juices and mousses. Excellence is constantly looking to develop its range – the diverse assortment provides customers with the widest possible choice.
Striving for perfection
Our mission is best reflected in the motto adopted by Excellence – „Striving for perfection”. We attach great importance to the needs of our consumers, which is why we provide you with a variety of products that guarantee the highest quality and great taste. Excellence is also reflected in the organisation of our company, every carefully planned production step and our love of what is natural!
We focus on continuous development, expanding our range, being creative, looking for new solutions and meeting our customers’ expectations. Our range includes traditional syrups, drinks, juices, mousses and organic products.
Constantly observing the market, both Polish and overseas, we adapt our assortment to the latest trends and implement new solutions. Thus, in recent years we have placed particular emphasis on two elements that are important to us: on the one hand, the taste of tradition – the Excellence line of traditional syrups, which thousands of Poles have come to love; and on the other hand, modern organic products – healthy syrups and BIO juices.
Quality, Polish flavours, ecology, health, nature and combining tradition with modernity – these are the key values in our company. We constantly strive to improve our offer, building a leading position on both domestic and foreign markets.
